Front Covers Overall Conclusion

Conclusion for front covers: In conclusion from analysing 3 different front covers it helped me come up with ideas that I would then use for my magazine. This meant that in my photo-shoot I used a variety of shots for example, long shots, medium shots and also close-up shots so now I have a variety of pictures to choose from for my front cover image. I have also learnt the key features for the front cover of the magazine and how to apply all of this and what works well and what doesn’t work well. For example, I am going to place my masthead at the very top of the magazine as I believe this is where it will stand out the most and all the magazine I have analysed have placed it here. However what I am not going to do Is place my central image over the masthead like the Katy Perry magazine did as this then meant that the masthead was not visible which meant it was unable to read. I am also going to make my magazine front cover quite simple but then from analysing the ;KERRANG; magazine I like how they have used a lot of sell lines and cover-lines on their magazine which I might then use on my final magazine front cover as this makes the magazine stand out and is eye-catching at the same time. But it also shows that there is a lot going on inside the magazine. I also have learnt how some of the models look directly into the camera which is effective as it could be seen as them looking directly into the readers eyes also I do like the images where they aren’t looking into the camera. I now know all the key information about what to include on my front cover of the magazine and what makes it look effective and what doesn’t work well.
