Double-page spread mock-up
Here I have created my double-page spread mock up. This is where I am going to have a written article that links in with the front page of my magazine. This means that I am going to have a double-page spread all about my chosen artist name 'Rosie Wallis'. My first idea for the double page is that all along the top of the page I am going to have different images of the artist. However I want these images to look like a time frame, meaning that it look like the pictures have all happened within a short period of time. The image shot that I am going to use to capture my idea of a time frame is a close-up shot. I believe that by using this type of shot it will look the most effective. I have also decided that on top of these pictures that I am going to write each individual letter of the artists name over the images. I am going to place each letter in black boxes and have a white typography. The reason that I am going to use these colours is that I am going to use them on my content page so therefore I want them to link in together and look professional as I believe it would look really messy if I were to use lots of different colours all over the page. However I think it is going to look really good having the artists name really clear at the top of the page. I have also never seen anything like this before which means that I am original and unique as I have thought up a brand new idea.On the left hand side of the page I am going to place images all down the left hand side. I have decided to do this vertical as I want it to look like passport photos after they have been done. For this I am going to use the same image and then by using photo shop I am going to edit all the photos with different colours over the top meaning this should look really cool but different at the same time. These photos are also going to be a close-up shot as I believe this sort of look that I am going for will look a lot better than using a long-shot. Next to these images I am going to place two big images that are on top of each other. These images are going to take up the majority of the page and are going to be a close-up shot and then also a mid close up shot. I am also going to edit the top image and probably place it in black and white as I do not want my readers getting bored of seeing the same image over and over again. The top and the bottom image are also going to be the same however the top image is going to be a close-up shot and then the one below a mid close up shot.On the right hand side of the paqe underneath the strip of pictures I am going to have all the typography and the article for my final magazine. I am going to write the article in two columns and at the end of the article I am also thinking about posting a picture of a CD that the artist has just bought out. The reason that I have decided to write my article in columns is that this is what most magazines have done and also it is the most professional way of writing an article. I am also going to look at other magazine articles to give a idea about what I want my final article to be around. I am also going to place 'buzz words' in my article (but also on other parts of the magazine) At the top of the magazine I am going to place the CD name that I decide to use, I am going to do this as it will give a clear direction about what the article is about. I am going to write the article in black typography and then I am going to highlight all the key lines in purple but then also make them a bigger font as this should therefore stand out on the page and be one of the first things that the reader is going to read.
