'Vibe' Content Page Analysis 1

The central image Is the main focus on this content page as it immediately jumps out at the reader giving the sense of elegance and class. This could then also reflect on the whole magazine. The photographer has used a long shot as we can see her whole body however the angle that she is sat at is very unusual and different from the typical content page. The way the model is holding herself portrays her as being classy. The lighting on the model also draws the reader straight to her especially her legs, as different shades have been used in certain places for example it is really bright in some places and then gets really dark, she has also been placed over a light background which I think works really well as it makes her stand out on the page. I like how at the top of the page the background is black and it then gradually becomes lighter and lighter.  The model is also looking directly into the camera which I think is really effective as it gives the sense that the model is looking directly into the reader’s eyes. The image has also been placed so that it will work with the typography that will be placed on the content page, as we can see the models legs are almost wrapped around the text. The model could also be described as the word ‘Perfection’ as she has a beautiful figure and all have makeup is done outstandingly which makes her look very elegant, even though her clothing is quite revealing this could be what captures people into buying the magazine if they were to have a flick through. The target audience for this magazine could be either men or women as I believe she draws in both. Men due to her beauty and seductive pose and then Women who aspire t be like her.

The masthead on the magazine also stands out but it is also very different and unique. It isn’t the typical masthead that is placed in a straight-line, I like how the letters are placed underneath each other and on different rows. The font is also in big bold font and has also been placed over a black background which looks fantastic as it is very eye-catching meaning it will draw in the readers.  It is also very clear to read which is important and I like how the colour of the font doesn’t clash with the background colour. It works really well as the colour of the font is white meaning it is practically jumping out at you.

The font of the content page works really well as it links in with the masthead and central image and doesn’t ruin the professional, elegant look of the magazine. Many different fonts have been used on the page however I believe it actually works really well and doesn’t clash with any of the other features on the page. The words ‘features’ and ‘fashion’ have been used in a big clear font compared to the main body text on the page. This straight away is telling the reader the main information in the paragraph below it. The font is also in a completely different font to the other fonts on the page; I believe this makes the magazine look even more elegant. Although one of my favourite parts about this content page is how a variety of fonts have been used, some in bold and some in capital letters. Usually I wouldn’t say this works however because of the background and the central image I believe this works really well and looks very effective and unique.

In conclusion I love this content page as it is very classy and elegant. My favourite part of it has to be the central image as the model is just so beautiful and in my eyes perfect. It has really taught me that overall the most important part of the content page is the central image. Otherwise I believe if the central image was dull and boring then it wouldn’t interest people and people would just skip the page which me and they wouldn’t know what was going on inside the magazine. I also love the how the word ‘CONTENT’ has been presented as I have never seen anything like it before. However this content page has really inspired in coming up with different ideas for my final contents page.
